NEWS FROM YOUR CHAMBER BOARD
Our congratulations to the committee and the participants of the 5th annual Taste of Bragg Creek. It was an incredibly successful evening with 25 vendors and an estimated 1300 attendees. We were lucky with the weather once again this year as participants took in all the vendors at the community centre and throughout the hamlet. We are looking forward to some new developments happening at the 6th annual Taste of Bragg Creek on March 30th, 2018. Congrats once again to Shaye Radford, Christine Pollard, Mackenzie Walsh and Charlie Holschuh, your hard work paid off.
A committee is reviewing submissions to create one and possibly two new websites, which should be complete within the next two to three months. Stay tuned!

Tourism Director Charlie Holschuh has met with Travel Alberta to discuss collaboration and funding opportunities.
The Chamber Board has applied for a STEP Grant to hire a summer student to assist with marketing and visitor friendly intitiatives. This is a matching grant program and the other ½ of the funds are being provided by Alberta Culture and Tourism through the Visitor Friendly Project.
Chamber President Suzanne Jackett and Business Liaison Yvonne Smith attended a presentation from students from Banded Peak School. The students were working on a project with the Bragg Creek Revitalization Committee called Between the Malls. The intent of the project was twofold; to give the students a real life project in which they could apply their classroom learnings and to give the BCRC ideas to move forward with discussions with landlords, Rocky View County and the Government of Alberta. The presentations were amazing and if even a portion of the ideas get implemented in the future it would be a great improvement to the area. This is a long term project as there are many relationships to be considered and approvals to work through.
The Visitor Friendly Report of the project we recently completed is now available. Please contact the Chamber if you would like a copy and check it out here – Visitor Friendly Implementation Report FINAL.
