Biking and cycling at their finest in Bragg Creek!
The Bragg Creek area is perfect for biking. It boasts everything from flat and easy to rugged mountain terrain. Whether you are a mountain bike nut, road racer, or are just out for a little spin around the picturesque countryside, there is a trail for you.
Leisurely peddlers
Tour around the hamlet for some level riding, or take the 8 km TransCanada Trail which follows West Bragg Creek Road towards the mountains for some super scenery and more of a workout (from the hamlet, cross the river and turn left). There are also many turns off this road into quiet forested roads and agricultural areas, perfect for a safe and gentle ride with the kids.
Mountain bikers
Check the hiking page for trails that allow bikes. Are you an avid mountain biker? You may be interested in the Moose Mountain Bike Trail Society, an advocacy and riding group.
Road riders
If cycling is more your speed, we have the scenic roads for you to travel. Check out Bragg Creek & Kananaskis Outdoor Recreation for ideas on their favourite road rides, cycling groups and races if you’re feeling ambitious.
Are you interested in a road biking community?
You may want to check out the Elbow Valley Cycle Club, which was formed in 1983 to promote the enjoyment of on and off road cycling in the Calgary area and to advocate and protect cyclists’ rights and access to these facilities. The club does not participate in any races and is strictly a bicycle touring club. The EVCC is a not-for-profit organization run by volunteers.
