With access points to Kananaskis and Bragg Creek Trails (BCT) on either side of Bragg Creek, plus the world-class trail system that backs onto the downtown core, Bragg Creek is sure to have the hike/stroll/casual loop that you are looking for.

BCT builds and maintains some 166 km of multi-use trails in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The terrain is mostly gentle and rolling and the forest is a mix of aspen and evergreens which has been logged in places, opening up many lovely vistas. Creeks, springs, and wetlands add variety to the landscape. There is a small Trails Centre, plenty of parking and washrooms.

If you are up for a more technical adventure, head out on Highway 66 and check out the stunning vistas that the Kananaskis Rockies have to offer. Some local favourites include Prairie Mountain, Nihahi Ridge, and Tombstone.

Our world-class mountain bike trail system is lovingly-maintained and meticulously kept by the volunteer-run WBC. With our close proximity to Calgary, West Bragg has become an epicentre for mountain biking in Western Canada. Front-county and back-country, Bragg Creek has it all when it comes to camping. Head out on Highway 66 and you will find several front-country/walk-in campground options including Gooseberry, McLean Creek, and Little Elbow. Spend a night (or three) beneath the stars and explore the world-class hiking, biking, and equestrian trails that this stunning area has to offer.

For those looking for something a little more off the grid, backcountry permits are also available for several sites.

Bragg Creek has two excellent golf courses, Wintergreen and Redwood Meadows, for you to take a swing at while spending the day out here. Both courses offer gorgeous scenery and an often added bonus of wildlife viewing. Make sure to book those tee times in advance as it gets quite busy during peak times.

McLean Creek Campground and area has long been a mecca of off-roading, quading, and dirt-biking. This large campground is found in McLean Creek Provincial Recreation Area, 12 km west of Bragg Creek along Hwy. 66 and 1.3 km south on McLean Creek Trail. Sites are suitable for RVs and tents, with unserviced and power options. The campground is adjacent to many kilometers of trails in the McLean Creek Public Land Use Zone (PLUZ).

Adrenaline junkies will find access to many outdoor recreation opportunities in a foothills setting.

WBC has trails designated specifically for equestrian use and Kananaskis country has both front and backcountry equestrian trails and campgrounds to accommodate all levels of riders.
