The Ranch Host is primarily responsible for food services and meal preparation at the ranch, however, you will also be required to support the ranch team with daily tasks. This role includes a significant amount of front facing interactions with guests.
As Ranch Host your days will involve preparing meals in the guesthouse for pack trip arrivals and departures, managing menus and packing food for backcountry cooking by guides, and supporting the ranch team. The majority of meals are Canadian inspired and prepared with local ingredients. The ideal candidate requires cooking and customer service experience, the ability to work independently and as part of a small team, as well as a positive attitude and sense of adventure
Your main tasks include:
• planning and preparing fresh and delicious meals for guests in the guesthouse
• planning and packing fresh and delicious meals for guides to prepare in the backcountry • maintain a clean and organized workspace
• housekeeping and hosting duties such as trip prep and clean up and greeting guests
• order and manage food inventory and supplies within a budget
• interact with guests in a positive and professional manner
Qualifications:
• Food Safe certification
• First Aid certification is an asset
• strong food service and customer service skills and experience
• the ability to work different shifts, sometimes long days, in a fast-paced environment
• exceptional problems solving skills and the ability to adapt
• enthusiasm for the outdoors and Western lifestyle
• horse experience is not required but is an asset
