Linocut Printmaking Workshop

Join Cochrane artist Michelle Wiebe to learn the basics of linocut printmaking.

Michelle will teach you about composition, safe cutting techniques, mixing ink, and how to pull prints. Class time will also cover information about choosing linoleum, carving tools, ink types, and how to select paper. Participants will leave with hand-pulled prints, their own carved blocks, as well as the skill to practice at home using basic art materials.

Suitable for Beginners and Intermediate. Maximum of 12 adult registrations.

$120 fee includes all the materials and tools you will need.

About the Instructor: Michelle Wiebe is a Cochrane, Alberta-based artist focused primarily on painting, printmaking, and letterpress. Her work is characterized by simple subject matter rendered with bold colour and line work. Michelle is also a passionate instructor with a deep love for teaching, she makes it her goal that students leave her class with quality work and the confidence to continue building their new skills. She can also be found doing collaborations, demonstrations
and commission pieces. She is the Programming and Engagement Coordinator at Alberta Printmakers and a member of the Leighton Artist Centre.
