Spirit of Christmas – Lead Event Organizer
Volunteer Leadership Role for Bragg Creek’s Spirit of Christmas
The BCCA is seeking an enthusiastic community member interested in leading the volunteer-run community event Bragg Creek’s Spirit of Christmas!
The successful volunteer will be interested in donating about 30-40 hours of their time between September and early December to lead the volunteer committee for the event on Saturday November 30th.This annual event has a solid volunteer base of support, and great community engagement. What we are in search of is someone to lead the coordination of all these fantastic efforts.

- Super excited about Christmas and want to channel that cheer to share with your community
- Looking to add some leadership and/or event organization experience to your resume
- Searching for a way to give back to Bragg Creek and this role falls within your skillset
- Interested in getting to know other community-minded neighbours Curious about becoming a Board Member or getting more involved in the community, and want to start by focusing on a specific project Scrooge after your change of heart and want to spread all the joys of the holidays with whoever will listen
The Event Organizer will oversee the following tasks:
- Event Planning
- Lead the event planning meetings (meetings will be comprised of volunteer members of the community who lead day-of events, BCCA staff liaison, Bragg Creek Chamber of Commerce liaison)
- Coordinate the hiring of Santa, Sleigh Rides, etc.
- Marketing
- Support the updating of the event promotional materials (materials, like the map of events, are created already in partnership with Branded Visuals)
- Promote the event to news sources and social media (with support from BCCA staff/accounts)
- Coordinate event signage around the community
- Volunteer Coordination
- Work with the BCCA’s Volunteer Management Committee to communicate the required volunteer roles
- Event Set Up
- Follow event set-up plan created by last year’s organizer (thanks, Robin!!)
- Work with day-of volunteers and BCCA staff
- Day-of Event (Saturday November 30th)
- Support the other volunteers with all aspects of the event
- Event Wrap Up
- Compile learnings and challenges to be added to the Event Plan for next year
- Ensure all invoicing is complete
